The Challenges

Challenges are a great way to describe this dealership project.  This project started as an unplanned necessity due to a fire in December of 2011.  The 100,000 sf service garage burned and that led to three complete tear-downs and rebuilds.

The ultimate rebuild of all buildings on property made for an impressive final product but the course of construction and continual adding of new phases while remaining open for business was an exciting exercise in coordination and organization.

The project was staged – beginning with the demolition of the destroyed service garage.  Next a new concrete tilt-up service garage was constructed further back on the property. Secondly a new steel and glass showroom, office, lounge was built immediately up against the back of the old showroom.  Once the new showroom and garage were complete the existing showroom was demolished and the entire site reconfigured for best parking/display.

After the grand opening, the service bays and carwash was demolished and rebuilt to match the modern style of the new showroom – this time using CMU construction and EIFS.

Overall an amazing project with even better clients.  Any challenges were certainly overshadowed by teamwork, respect and collaboration by all.
